Cockshutt 50 on the mill

Beautiful spring day yesterday so I took the opportunity to run a small load of oats through the old McCormick Deering hammer mill for cattle feed. No jigsaw this time but I did shoot a little video of the Cockshutt 50 running the mill.

Nice video. Brought back memories of the old farmer I worked for long ago who ran his silage blower and buzz saw with a McCormick W-4 on the belt.

Nice.
Never saw a 50 around here.
A few 30's but not many Cockshutts in our area.
Use to pull a mill with a 49 JD A on Grandma's farm.

Those look like really clean oats. What did you combine them with or have they been through a separate cleaner?

The oats do look pretty clean but they are straight out of the combine. I can't be sure if I combined them with the IH axial flow or the JD 7721 conventional pull type. They are from a year or two ago.

(quoted from post at 16:36:30 04/10/23) Nice 50. Those oats are nice and really clean. If I was to grow oats here they would be 15 to 25 % wild oats. What variety are they.
I believe these are Dancer variety. Got a bit of volunteer wheat in them which does not all clean out at the cleaning plant so it makes some heavy feed.
