anyone ever hear of the above company? I know of a metal seat from an implement or something that has the name cast into it.

Gas engine manufacturers at the turn of the century. Origins back to the 1880s building simple and later side shaft engines. I recall seeing an advertisement for Foos where a man was bathing in the water hopper. The seat is likely from an engine cart that serves as a transport via horses. Foos didnt expand to much else and were sold the Fulton Iron Works in St Louis where they continued engines until the 40s.

The only Foos engines I have see were 10-15 hp flywheel engines used in oilfield.
