Unless that barn has another door, he would be better off backing it in.....That is what we always did with hay wagons that were filled up just before evening milking. Unloaded them into the hay mow the next morning after morning milking....
 
Unless he needs to use the tractor for something else it's always easier to drive in forward. That way you can back it out into wide open space. Backing in you need to be very precise so you don't hit the planter on one side and the combine on the other side. Also to back in you need someone to guide you
Backing out you can do yourself.
