Big Lizzie, built to pull a train of trailers over desert and swamp in Australia. Powered by a single cylinder Blackstone engine, the tractor carried its own workshop and spares, even an anvil. The rear wheels are about seven feet tall. Certainly one of the biggest tractors I have seen.

They work a bit like a crawler. We had something called Rotopads for tractors in place of wheels for heavy pulling. You could turn a wheeled tractor into a near crawler in an hour by fitting them instead of the rear wheels. I did that most years in the late 1960's for a customer, on a Fordson Major New Performance Super, I also changed the crown wheel and pinion to fit the reduction version, to increase the pull and changed it all back, after the ploughing season finished.
