The seed flow sensor on 7100 jd planter,what goes wrong with them? The two lights light up when I put the tester on, dale

I had a sensor on my White 5100 planter go "bad", so I replaced it. Turned out it was coated with a hard substance that I had to scrape off. After I cleaned it, it worked fine. Since then, I really wash all sensors after planting with soapy water and brush. No problems since.

The other half which is the eye is not reading the LED .

Get a bottle brush and some soapy water and stick it up the seed tube. The static electricity makes the seed treat graphite stick to the sensor. I have to clean mine a couple times through out the season. I have one that is more troublesome than the rest. Don't know why that is.
