The corp at red Rock dam is to release 100 soon and in 1993 flood released 104 units. The forcast is about one foot below the flood of 93 high water mark in the Keosauqua, Iowa area. I went and saw the high water of 93 lasted for almost three weeks. Looking at Monday for the flood. Rail roads have placed rail cars full of rock on the bridges on flooding river in NE Iowa trying to keep the bridges from washing out. Waterloo has one RR bridge gone. Last I knew Coralville corp dam has water going over the emergency spill way.

I live about a mile from the Des Moines River,(on high ground, thank God), and it's been out of its banks for almost a week. It seems to be rising faster each day. At Eddyville, it's within about four or five feet of going over the levee. The forecast? More rain. It's like '93 all over again.

According to the news on TV this noon the idea of loaded rail cars on the bridge didn't work too good in Cedar Rapids. The bridge ,rail cars and all are in the cedar river.

1936, do you live near Keosauqua? I am about 22 miles south of there. I heard it was rising fast there. If Red Rock lets more out, it will get bad fast. My prayers are with all of the flood victims. Mike

this should change people minds when it comes living close to water ,anymore it's just not a good idea .We are under water in cent ILL as well just like 93-95 and 02 we know what your dealing with best of luck .

Mike You must be in the Memphis area. I went to school in Keosauqua, but don't live in the area. Sand bagged brothers house yesterday. Looks to be higher than the 1993 flood, but not the 1947 flood. Looks like about 80 acres of crop will be flooded. Have time to move out this time.
