Need help for tomorrow morning jd 3020

I have to tear into my boss"s 3020 to replace the hydraulic pump tomorrow and have never messed with a new gen tractor, can anyone give me and outline or even a portion from an owners manual. Doubt he has a manual. I have to do it first thing tomorrow morning so any help would be appreciated. Thanks Alex

remove both side grills for radiator cooling. loosen fan belt. then there is a to spider gear things with rubber between them separate the two. Then loosen the pipes on pump and it should come out. There may be a shield on the bottom I don't remember. Basically the same with 4020.

you have to put the front of the tractor on stands and take the front axle and axle mount out.its easiest to take the pump out from the bottom.if i remember right there are only 8 or 10 bolts to take out the front axle and bolster.after taking the tubes loose and the drive shaft out thereare 4 more bolts to drop the pumo

Most of the time, a leaky main pump diagnosis is due to a small return line that goes to leaking, this line returns oil that leaks past the pistons back to the case, its only about 1/4 inch line

Step # 1 pressure wash it off the best you can get it and try to get it real good around that pump and lines ! Dirt is death to hyd. systems !
Cap off all lines you unhook too.

Thanks guys pulled the axle only 4 bolt, pulled the steering rod attatchment 4 bolts, was going to pull the pump and leave the drive shaft there, but i called the jd service tech at bader bros and said to pull the a frame that mounts to the block and pull the a frame and pump in one piece. I didnt even notice the top line til the tech said something, Question does that bolt have to be in at a certain spot for oil to flow? Anyways I pulled all 3 lines the baby line and slid it off. Not to bad of a job, and thanks for the help. al

The bolt in the top "banjo fitting" does NOT have to be turned a certain way. Just tighten it up, after being sure both the upper and lower sealing rings are in place.
