A local oil company has several thousand gallons of highway diesel for sale that came from a
trucking company that went out of bussiness. It has a brown color. They said it was 2 or 3 years old. They also said they tested it and it was good. They want 3 bucks a gallon delivered. Is it worth the trouble?

Absolutely, positively, most definitely advisable to get that fuel, even if it was purple with pink polka dots inside.

Once filtered, you should be in great shape.

NAB IT!!!

If you dont want it let us know, I'm sure several of us would take it all sight unseen. A few years ago my distributor got several hundred thousand gallons that had been in underground tanks since the 50's (o;d military stockpile). Stuff burned just fine.

Ray, sounds like it might be the old higher sulphur fuel. Gonna need to run it in an older engine if it is. I don't know about using it on the road if you have scales where they check the fuel. Think it would be ideal for older farm equip. It will most likely smoke more, thats how the boys running the scales can tell. It does offer your engine more lubrication.
