sweet corn weather

Just wondering if anyone else is in the same situation as I am and what to maybe excpect? I live in northern MN. Been on the cool side this summer and a fair amount of moisture. My sweet corn garden, 40ft x 40ft, rows 30 inches apart, the stalks are only 2-3 foot tall and look very healthy. Some are starting to tassle already with no ears on them yet. From anyones expierience what can I excpect to happen-corn or no corn?

Tassels nearly always appear first, and the corn will continue to grow. Depending on the variety of corn, it may not get real tall. I'd say that yours is right on track.

Tassel will come first, silk emergence will follow in a couple of days... corn is going to need plenty of moisture from tassel through harvest. You should have corn ready to boil in 20 - 25 days after silk appears.

Most of the sweet corn we've planted was a lot shorter than field corn. As long as the plants look nice n green and full-leafed, should be good.
