Using Ospho on implemants

I have some cultivator and plow parts that I received with three Farmall tractors. Would Ospho affect them while in storage?

Motor oil or linseed oil would cost less.

I thought of that but I plan to paint them later but don't want to remove the oiley goo. I was interested in the effect the ospho would have on the metal.

IMO the Ospho will just react with the existing rust. Will leave a sort of white-grey coating. I really don't think it will make much of a long term protective coating unless you paint over it.
I've used it and then left some of the items unpainted and they did develop some new rust.
