Versatile 935 stops running when lights are on

I have just purcased a Versatile 935 tractor that will die about 15 minutes after the lights are switched on. It can be restarted after about 5 minutes. It runs fine with the lights turned off. The tractor is a very good tractor except for this problem. I do a lot of my farming at night and on weekends as I have another business that I run during the day from 8:00-6:00. Has anyone else experienced this problem with a Versatile 935 and if so how do I correct this problem?

I have a guy that I work with that does the exact same thing. He doesn't like to work at night either.
Well, it's diesel, possibly electric fuel solenoid stop, lights and fuel shutoff on same circuit, circuit breaker trips. Just a guess.

Try disconnecting part of your lights at a time and see if you can find part that is causing the problem . Check all of your wiring for the lights and take a look at the light switch.

Fuel solenoid wired in series with a oil pressure switch screwed in the block.Try bypassing that.A screw on the back of the injection pump screwed in overrides the electric fuel solenoid.Mark

I am afraid to by pass this switch as I think it also is a safety switch to kill the engine if the oil pressure should get too low and keep low oil pressure from damaging the engine.

I disconnected all the lights from the factory wiring and rewired them to a switch that comes directly off the battery. The lights will now burn without the engine shutting off or at least they did for about 30 minutes. Interestingly, the dash lights -- oil pressure, altometer, fuel guage, water temp lights did not work with the light switch turned off. I would like the dash and instrument lights to work so I can monitor the engine at night also. I tried turning the light switch on and the engine did not shut off after running for 30 minutes with both the light switch on --with the wiring disconnected at the lights but still in place where it was --and with the lights --now rewired direct to the battery --turned on. Did the lights just pull to much amperage for the factory wiring to handle causing the overload switch to cut off?
