More off the C

I got the head off this afternoon, and shook it and rattled it and did everything i can think of and still cant get that file out. I think it is somewhere inside the head now. This is great.

Im thinking the oil circulates inside the head since i dont see anywhere for coolant to get in, and that perhaps the file is down where the oil circulates. Perhaps it will get sucked back up to the fitting and will come out easy, or mabey it will just stay out of the way when the tractor is running. What do you think??

Lanse. Put your B head on your C and try to get it runing. I am going to try to get down there and give you a hand later this week. Richard

Thanks Rich, atleast something good happened today....

DickL, do you have a problem with this??

The coolant has passages all over the head as oil isnt circulated thru the head mite be one for the oil to get to the rocker arm shaft but any head has passages for coolant to keep head cool.

Yeah, i never really realised thats where the thermostat leads to. Hey, im learning!!!

Lanse, the head is all about coolant and very little about oil...once again, are you SURE this is in an OIL passage?
Take a picture of the WHOLE HEAD and point to the fitting...I still think it's coolant!

it is not coolant, since the broken off fitting would have gone to the oil pump.
