8N with no compression in rear two cylinders

I have an 8N engine that hasn"t been run for a number of years. It has 120 lbs of pressure in the front cylinder, 100 in the cylinder behind it, and no pressure at all in either of the rear two. Is there an easy way to check or free up the valves without removing the head? [email protected]

You have either a couple of stuck valves or a blown headgasket.

Start by removing the rear sidecover on the RH side of the engine. You can then watch the valve action while cranking and see which, if any, valves are stuck.

sounds like a blown headgasket. to test- remove both plugs, turn the engine til one of the two cylinders have both valves closed, then take air compressor hose and pressurize that cylinder (wrap a rag or something around the house to seal it fairly well).. hear air coming out the cylinder?

Something else you can do first off is fill the cylinders with tranny fluid and see if it comes out the carb or exhaust. Now that will not tell you if the valves are stuck but it will lube things up and that might be enough to free things up

Take out all the plugs so you can turn the engine over. You have some stuck valves as one post says take off the side cover to see which ones are stuck.
