48 JD B Motor Upgrade Questions

I have a 1948 JD B, currently stock. I have an interest in modifying the motor for use in tractor pulling.

If anyone has any experience with this, Im interested in knowing if any other model motors "bolt right in" or what kind of horse power was gained depending on what size pistons were installed.

Any other information would be great! Thanks
 
The only easy modification would be a "Power Block" since the late B used the same block as the 50, and the 520/530 block would not be compatible.
