It's been a steady rain All day yesterday and overnite, it's suppose to be over around noon,we have over 4 inches at 9 am .... I'm in the middle of Iowa,, I sure feel for in the ones in Tx. and other places where they would be HAPPY to get ONLY 4"...
Anyway I wouldn't be mowing grass today... Going to the shop and do things there...
My thoughts ....for now ....

It's not raining hard here in Mid Michigan, just steady. .6 when I checked an hour ago. I chopped in a mist until about 3:30 yesterday. Sure hope it doesn't hold us up too long. I've got another cutting of hay that I want to take yet too. Would have been nice to have had this in July and August when we needed it.

Except for one little shower yesterday was the first rain over a half inch since the first week in July. 4,4 inches from yesterday and today, 10 miles away less than half that, 2 plus more on the way for Sunday.

We have had at least ten inches of rain the last couple of days, but no flooding, because this is canyon country and most of the runoff goes down the creeks.Except for leaky roofs.Up on the plains area ,its pretty flat and Lubbock was flooded by the same amount of rain. This is not from the hurricane, and tv shows it to be heading to the east of us.Have a cousin in Louisanna that had left twice before this one.Wish everyone the best during this stormy time..........

1.3 inches over here by Ashley Mi. this morning. Really nice rain coming down. Haven't had one like this all summer. Couldn't get a drop for a month. Grass looks like we never had a dry spell. I really like this time of year. Finally some good sleeping weather again!

I should go back out and check the guage, but it's raining too hard. Been picking up more all morning. I think the only one around here in worse shape for silo filling than me right now, with all my silage corn on low ground,is the big dairy just to the west. They've always chopped in trucks, but this year, they got rid of their straight trucks and went to all semis. I think they'll be out of the fields for a while.

Been meaning to get a rain guage, might get one Monday when I'm up at TSC. I would estimate we were 2 inches under for August. Got maybe a 1/4'' Tuesday night and probably an inch between Thursday night, yesterday & today. Expecting more rain tomorrow night. Remnants of Hurricane Ike. So anyway, we needed it so I'm kind of glad for it. Probably wouldn't be so glad if it was 4 or 8 inches like some fellas are talking about here.

Got over 4" yesterday & today here in Branch County, MI. On top of 3" last week. Trying to make up for 1" since mid July to September!! Still raining.

Saturday 13, time 8:14 pm . Location Central Missouri and it's pouring down buckets of rain as I write this and more coming tomorrow.
Glad I don't have to go to work any more. lol Don't have to go out in this stuff. Lucky Me. :)

Guys, Central Texas, 50 miles North of Austin. Right in the middle, 25 miles from Lampasas, Burnet, Killeen/Ft.Hood, Georgetown. Read my lips here.... Not one Drop of Rain! You could store gun power outside, Overcast, Windy till 3:00pm then clear skys, and wind went to nothing, then horribly hot. About 45 miles east was the western edge of the rain bands. Maybe next time. Darn we need rain, We just can't seem to get any at all!
Later,
John A.

I got home from work late tonight and we are at about 2 inches now. Most I have seen in the gauge in a while. JR Kirtek on channel 12 said we could possibly get 2-4 more inches of rain on sunday with it finally clearing up on monday. It will defenitely be while before you're doing any chopping in this mess. Actually, nobody for about 1500 miles straight south of us will be getting much done for a while by the looks of it.
