Mine is bent up, and I cant get it to fit without hitting the fan and crankshift wheel. Dont know where a IH Dealer is near Tulsa to buy one

You could try running it without the shroud and see if it heats up. If you need a shroud, contact TM Tractor parts. Their number is 845-744-3572. They are in Walker Valley,NY. They specialize in Cub and Cub Lowboy parts. Their web address is www.external_link. rw

It all depends on what you are doing with it. If you are loading the motor for more than five minutes you will need it in order to cool properly. My ford 9000 has no shroud and it doesn't heat up.

It is probably more of a safety thing so you don't brush up against it and get something caught in the fan, not quite as big of a deal as overheating but still worth it IMO. Not to mention it would be a pain to put in after you get it all put back together.

I doubt the dealer would be able to get one, I would check a salvage yard or go with an aftermarket one if someone has it available.
