8N steering gear box

Can't find the recommendad 90 w mineral oil, can I use standard 85-90w or 80-90w? Also, what is the capacity?

Mineral oil is a G-1 oil so that is what you need to look for. Look on the bucket for this classification. May have to go to a oil company instead of a farm store. It should not be hard to find in a rural area. The other types may be hard on the seals in the older tractors.

Get yourself a tube of JD cornhead grease.

He's looking for STEERING GEAR LUBE, NOT rear-end lube, and cornhead grease is a great choice.

(FYI, the issue with certain rear end oils is the potential for long-term damage to brass parts, NOT oil seal problems.)
