T340

I have a 59 T340 with a sixway blade. It will not hold in the tilt in either direction. Any ideas where to look first? All other functions work correctly. Thanks Karl

Wrong valve, or valve setting on the tilt control allowing float. JimN

As far as I know this is the orig. valve. I have only owned the dozer a short time. It had sat for a long time before I bought it. Is it possible that the seals could be bad in this cyl.?

Sure, many have two opposed cylinders (What I thought yours had) and it makes sense that it could leak past the piston. Here is a check: switch the hoses on the angle control with those on the tilt.
If it still will not stay put, it is the piston seals, (should be rebuildable) JimN

On that i would be looking real close at the cylinder and the packing may be bad and allowing the oil to bypass inside .

I will check it out tomorrow. It is the smallest cyl. on the dozer so it should be easy to pull.
