Should have one (bakers fan) at the Lubbock TX tractor show the 18-19 oct.,had it at the Plainview TX show, but I don"t really understand it's purpose. Please explain, never saw one before, and looks dangerous.

As it was told to me by an oldtimer,A fellow used to rebuild Baker tractors and he made this fan to test the tractors after he rebuilt them to see how they perfomed against the originals to make sure he had done it right, again as I was told. The faster you turn the fan the harder it gets. Hope this helps.

Mr. A. D. Baker founder of A. D. Baker built one (or more) to use to break in his steam engines after they were new and before they were shipped to the new owner. I personally met him when I was much younger. Dad had a Baker tractor to run a sawmill at that time and about once a year we would go to Swanton to get a few parts. 60 years ago.
