Just read an article saying New York is having tourism problems since the leaves aren't turning as "brilliantly" as they used to. Blames it on milder Falls and global warming. Well - this Fall has been pretty warm, and the leaves look pretty good. Last Fall was cold and the leaves did NOT look good. So, who the heck knows?

By the way, if tourism is down - I'd blame it on the politics and taxes.

Color is the BEST ever down here in the Southern Tier. Decline in tourism has more to do with gas prices than color or lack of.
 
Yeah, I know. I'm 180 miles from the city and 80 miles from the Adirondacks - but "New York" means City to many people. I guess that's why many of us rural New Yorkers call this place "New York State."
 
I must agree with the color being the best it's been in years. We may not get to see the sun set or rise but the fall color is worth it.
 
In the northeast, you can't get a prettier fall than that! It has always been sort of tradition to ride in the fall to see the river valleys and open farm hill sides in western PA for my family
