is there such a thing on fuel pump 3208 CAT engine on 1805 MF that you can over ride the electric fuel shut off and shut it off manually, and turn it on manually, i dont hear the click its suppose to do when turn key on, i use it to haul hay, cold weather seems to be effecting its job or am i looking at wrong things

no smoke out the exhaust, starting fluid, doesnt work because no fuel, p.s. it does start and when it does it good i go on my 24 mile round trip hauling hay, plugged in all night last night and it wont start today

Is it 24 or 12 volt system. I have had a Cat 24 volt kill switch fail to close due to wire corrosion and or hooked up only 12 volts, then the machine would not kill - never had trouble with it sticking the other way and not allowing fuel to start. May try unhook the battery cables and then work the key switch to ensure circuit is broken -- hook battery back up and try to start.

The fuel solenoid on the injection pump is probably bad.You can either replace it or you can remove the plunger in the solenoid. If you remove the plunger you will not be able to turn it off with the key.You can kill it by putting it in high gear and let the clutch out while pushing on the brakes or you can adjust the throttle linkage so the engine will idle down so it will die.

Better find out if it's a CAT pump, or a Bosch in-line pump.

I have a 3208 from a Massey (I forget the model) and it has a Bosch in-line pump with an in-line Murphy fuel solenoid to shut it down.

I can probably help you with this one BJ. I have a 3208 in my White 4-150 and I had the exact same thing happen. Very easy fix you can do in about 10-15 minutes. Take off the fuel shut off solonoid on the top of the fuel pump. It only has two wires on it and two bolts holding it to the pump. What it does is push a little flipper up and down in the injector pump. The problem is most likely the flipper is sticking in the down position keeping the fuel shut off. There is just enough room to put you finger in the hole and move the flipper with your finger. I had to shoot some PB blaster down in the hole to get it working again. It just gets all filled with crud and rust and condensation and won't work. Try the solonoid with it off and make sure it's going up and down and put it all back together. Hit the key and you will be a happy camper again. I am sure this is your problem. Good luck.
