Was wondering if any one here has an interist in old trucks or collects them? I have always liked the cab over types. I think it its always neat here a truck with Detroit Deisel to; they were an interisting engine desighn. I guess my favorite trucks would be the Marmon cabover and of course the Mack model LF and LJ.

I like them.I have a few.1958 Ford F-850 all wheel drive.1963 Ford F-850 single axle dump.1965 Ford F-800 cab and chassis.1969 Ford F-850 tandem axle dump. All gas burners.Huge v-8 power. It's getting so I can't afford the gas to run them.Even just in my yard.Price of parts is a killer too.

I have a 65 F-600, Currently adding a Marmon 4x4 unit to it. May not go fast when done but should go where I want.

I have a 1946 Chevy 2-ton truck with the original 235 in it. One of these days I'll get it back up and running....

we have a 534 in a cab over dump truck,we only use it around the yard once in awhile as it's no longer road legal, little exhust left, just like running a hot rod lol.We not too awfully recently had a 58 GMC with a 261? I-6,5 speed with a vacume ruxell, wipers and a pedal to run the starter.Purred like a kitten.

Love those big old trucks. We have two GMC 970 Series, 6-71 Diesel Powered, Tandem Axle Tractors; one 1948 and one 1949. Big, long aluminum hoods, three big air cleaners.

I've got a 1963 GMC 4000 fire truck I bought from a local department a few years ago. It has less than 7,000 miles on it, with the 305 V6 motor. I can't believe how low that thing will idle down and just slowly purr, but it also has pretty good power when reved up powering the pump. It is about like new in terms of overall tightness of doors, steering, etc. It even has the original tires on it.

Rick - Take a look at "American Truck Historical Society" - that's all about old trucks also "The Stovebolt Page" all GMC, Chevy trucks. After checking here I look at both of these everday.

First picture is a 1969 Diamond Reo with Detroit 8v71 and 13 speed. Second picture is a 1971 Diamond Reo with 290 big cam with 13 speed. Have to love the old iron.

That sounds like it would be very similar to the
1951 ? Chevy my uncle had that I grew up driving around the farm at a pretty young age.

Yeah, but it's the older body style that was used from41-mid 47. The "Big Tooth" grill. Either way, they both were heavy haulers. I've gotten her to turn over and "belch", but I need to re-wire it before something bad happens. Some of the old wires are pretty bad.

You got it.......534 in one.477 in another.401 in another. The baby is a 361.All easy to work on.Parts are expensive.Like you said,FUN to drive. My favorite is the '69 tandem axle.534,5 speed with 3 speed Brownie. They don't make 'em like they used to.Thank God????

I have an interest in old trucks there is an old 1950's mack boom truck that has been sitting for around 30 years that i want to buy

I have always had a soft spot for the Loadstar IH trucks. They were a good compromise for power, low cost maintenance, easy starting, and durability. We have a 1964 Loadstar 1600 still in use (road worthy) hauling grain away from the combine. And a recently acquired a 1975 Fleetstar 2010 tandem with a a 550 bu box with a 478 cu inch gasser. It has good power steering and air brakes and a road ranger tranny. It does like its gas, but our harvest requires only about 400 miles per year. I love these old guys.
