Three good men

Went to the repatriation of three of our soldiers at the Trenton Air Base who had been killed in Afganafstan by a bomb hidden under a roadway. One of the three had earlier on another mission been wounded but returned a second time to help the people there. As I watched the procession I couldnt help but think of how lucky I am to live in a country where I enjoy freedom and can disagree with how others think and worship without all the killing.Hope this war ends soon and our boys come home safe.

SIL did 15 months in Afganistan and returned to Ft. Bragg earlier this year. Re-enlisted and is scheduled to go back in March 2009.

I come from a family who has always done their service including me. I have the utmost respect for all our men and women in uniform. May God bless them and keep them safe.

..I saw the procession down the 401 towards Toronto, hundreds of people lining the overpasses waving Canadian flags..very touching... for our southern friends that section of the freeway(401) has been renamed "Highway of Heros" Our dead are returned to CFB Trenton and then taken by hearse to their hometowns etc. It is a sad but solem and proud moment as well. Legions , fire departements, police departements, school kids, people from all walks of life line up along the highway and overpasses to pay respects to the Heros in those long black hearses.

Michael,

In my part of the US (Mich) all the funeral processions I have witnessed tend to follow the side roads and occasionly a county or state road when necessary to get to the cemetary.

I image that was quite a site coming down the 401.
