Farmall F14

I had an F14 and sold it back in 2004 for $3500.00 on ebay. It was on the classic tractor calendar in July of 1997. The photographer Ralph Sanders who took the pictures for the calendar also wrote two books and used all of his calendar tractor pictures.

My question is;

How long did production actually last on the F14. I was told once they were made for 6 months in 1938 and 6 months in 1939. This would make sense since the Farmall H came out in 1939 to replace the F14. It would only be a total of 12 months production but produced in 1938 & 1939.

Can any one answer this.
I'll try to download a picture of my 1939 Calendar Tractor

The F14 replaced the F12 and Andy is right the H replaced the F20.

It says it in the book titled; "International Harvester Photographic History".

The F12 and F14 had many of the engine parts that were interchangeable such as pistons and sleeves, rod and main bearings (Depending on serial no.) and maybe the crank.

I left part of my reply out of the last one I left. I meant to say that the F12 and F14 had some parts that were interchangeable with the Farmall A engine such as piston and sleeves.

The H replaced the F-12/F-14 but had the power of the F-20. The F-20 had been somewhat superseded by the F-12 which could cultivate 2 rows of corn, which is all the F-20 could do. The F-30 could cultivate 4 rows and was replaced by the M. The only thing the F-12 could not do well was it did not have enough power to handle 2 14 or 16 inch plows or some of the threshing tasks. Putting F-20 power into an F-12 sized tractor did what was required. The A was a new size tractor to compete with the Allis Chalmers B.

You and sir Andy need to update your books. H repalced the 12/14 series. Its called marketing.TECHNICALLY, the H did replace the 20, but through,and I quote, "IH sales literature instructed its dealers to sell the H as a replacement for the F12. Meanwhile, they were to promote the A/B as an entirely new tractor size, which was certainly true, and sell the M as an F20 replacement."
