Happy New Year Guys! Any one else spending time in the woods? We have a outside boiler and heat the house and shop with it So. it's a grt time to use the 430 JD to open logging roads. Lots of snow here (nothern mn). Hope everyone has a good 2009! Bobmn

Yep, Skidder is plugged in and I'm hoping to get rolling by 10 this morning, once cattle chores are done. I live in East Central MN, and we have about knee deep snow in the woods. Another storm on the way for Saturday. Myself and parents heat with outdoor boilers, so I know what wood cutting is about. If we didn't have our Timber Jack skidder, it would be tough going with this much snow. Dad talks about when he used an RC Allis Chalmers to pull one 6-8ft piece of wood at a time out when he was growing up. Now we pull 2-4 full sized trees. He says it is much faster, and I'm not doubting him!

Hi Guys; Well I was born in west central Mn.(Willmar) and retired 20m south of Hibbing! We may not be in the middle of no where, but you can see it from here!! We collect old tractors and stuff. We use a 430 JD cat and a WD with a short skidder on it. Have a 1957 R190 Inter. with a Barco log loader on it........you know the kind,it doesn't leave the farm yard to much!! We use a 706 Farmall with a 8ft snow blower on the back. My shop project right now is putting a 8 ft plow on the frt. Went out back and cut a snowplow frame off a old 4x4 truck. The shop has a heated floor and I never thought I would enjoy as much as I do! Thanks Bobmn
