I have seen Warnings on here to beware "SPAM"... What does this mean? And I am not talking about the food .... Thanks in advance , Larry

It is just like the junk emails you get. They are pointless, worthless and are just plain annoying. They come from people that have way too much time on their hands. If they put as much time into a real job compared to sending useless emails, then we wouldn't have such a high unemployment rate. (rant)

I can't resist. As rude as it is,spam is still a couple of steps above potted meat.

Thank you buickddeere, I also heard that they had a contest when SPAM came out to come up with a name for it and someone had taking a letter from each part of meat OR something and came up with the letters S P A M .... Can you tell me who that person was AND what letters was from what??? P.S. I like mine fried with cheese and mayo...

Alot of spam junk can contain viruses, trojans, and spyware that could hurt your computer and files. NEVER click on a spammer's link. Don't even reply to their post, or they will post more. Just report it to the Moderator.

I lived in Austin MN for two years for tech school and SPAM to me only smells good on Thursdays (the whole town smelt of bacon) Otherwise it reeked of pig poo.

If your asking about email SPAM, well....others answered that:)

Interesting read. Made me hungry so I checked the cupboards and pantry. This is one household with out any SPAM tonight. Bummer!

Thanks Andy, If a person is not warned that it is SPAM , How can I tell if its SPAM ....
I have noticed that you guys have warned others on this site to be aware "SPAM" and most of them have a UK address on them, Whats up with that???

Spam is something that you can buy in a grocery store, it taste real good /////////////// check it out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that we have been told all the nutrition information. read Wikipedia about Sodium Nitrites and find out what they didn't tell you.

The expression "spam", meaning junk email, comes from an old Monty Python skit about a diner that only serves Spam. "Spam, Spam, nothing but Spam." Many of the nerds who are responsible for the computer slang we use today were big Monty Python fans.

Wikipedia describes the skit better than I can. If you're fortunate enough to have broadband, you can probably download the skit from YouTube.

Armour Treet can be bought for 79 cents a can here. has chicken and pork in it.Friends and I went camping a lot when we were teenagers.Spam or Treet were about the only meat that would keep in summer heat.Hot dogs cost 39 cents per pound , were used the first day out.A lot more people will be eating Spam and treet as their only meat as the depression gets worse.

The return address is always fake (called "spoofing"). They use UK to get your attention, works better than showing the email was from Russia or China.

Nerds? How can anyone not be a fan of Monty Python with skits like Spam, where a man dressed as a woman is in a British cafe full of Vikings singing about Spam, the only item on the menu.

Or an English pet store owner who sings of moving to Canada, becoming a lumberjack, and putting on women's clothing and hanging around in bars.

Wikipedia-now there's a accurate source. Says Sodium Nitrates are bad for you. Wait I just edited it. Says Sodium Nitrates are better than sliced bread. Wikipedia can be edited to say anything by anyone.

Lol,I get a kick out of those kinds of skits,I've lived in Canada my entire life and have yet to see an RCMP officer dressed like those stupid looking idiots lol. They haven't worn those red jackets or broad brimmed hats since the early 1900's.Most of the new cop cars you see here now are Hemi Chargers,so they don't even use their horses either lol.

I was hoping to see a Mountie on our honeymoon...but no:(

The only Mountie I have seen was that old pro wrestler in the WWF....you know the guy with the cattle shock stick!

I FRICKING HATE SPAM! I HATE SPAM! DO YOU HEAR ME? I FRICKING HATE EVEN THINKING ABOUT FRICKING SPAM! EEEEEAAHHHEEEYYEEEAHHHHAAUGHHEEEE

Actually, the Red Serge is still their dress uniform, only used for special occassions, etc. As you say, it's not their daily uniform.
