ford 3910 ground clearance

Im having problems with my ford 3910 being too low to the ground especially on rough terrain. Is there a way to put higher profile tires on to raise the clearance? or possibly different rims? Right now it has 6.00X16 fronts and 12.4X28 rears

Sorry I don't have an answer for you, but I've also got 28" rears on the IH 484, and I agree about the ground clearance not being enough. I'd never buy another tractor with 28" wheels on it. They are not very good at getting the horsepower to the ground either.

The front isn't so easy to raise as I think you'd need different spindles/axle tubes to really raise it much... and you basically don't get that with the 2WD axle on those tractors.
You can easily raise the rear up by going to 14.9-28 or 16.9-30, BUT.... in so doing you make a fairly significant change to the rear axle ratios. The 3910 SHOULD have 14.9-28's anyway, but the 30" wheel is a big jump. Those tractors had different transmission output ratios. It'll also be an even more gutless wonder on the road with bigger wheels if you don't change the transmission. It will run like a scalded dog...

:) I have a 1984 Ford 3910 and I'm running 14.9 x 28's on the rear and 7.50 x 16's on front. I've seen a bunch of JD 2150's & 2155's running 16.9 x 28's on the rear, but they always looked to me like they were running down hill!  The 14.9's & 7.50's will give you a LITTLE more clearance, but after all the 3910 IS a utility tractor! If this clearance issue is a serious problem, you might want to consider trading to a 4610 or similar tractor! :? Just my 2 cents worth (and worth every penny!)

thanks for the advice!! i think i may change the fronts to the larger size, while i look for a 4610 4x4, seem to be kinda rare around here.
