Hey folks,
the hydraulic fittings and fuel lines on my tractor are block type with copper washers that are supposed to be replaced each time they are taken apart. Pretty proud of them at the local shop and all I can find on line is a big assortment for over a hundred bucks. Anyone know of an online source that I can order what I need or at least a smaller assortment?

Thanks, Dave

Thanks, glennster, I need these also, and i"m
usually a fan of NAPA, but hadn"t thought of
trying them for copper washers.

Dave I was at harbor freight yesterday and picked up an assortment of copper washers. Probably not big enough for your application. The largest is 5/8 id. The set had a good selection for under 10.00 Napa sells copper washers. Why don't you try to reuse the washers. May be able to buy on line, from these two sources. Did you check EBAY? stan

I'll check HF out. They've been reused several times and some are seeping. Keeping the tractor and the driveway clean is a real PITA with the constant seeping. 5/8 id is about the biggest I need.

Thanks, Dave

If the sealing washers are actually copper, and not damaged, you can anneal them for re-use by carefully heating them red hot and letting them slowly cool.

Bought an assorted set from J.C. Whitney some years back. Cost then was $11. They still sell them and are now $26.99. Inflation at it's best. Here's the link.

rrlund, I didn't know NAPA had brass washers. I've bought copper washers by the box (100pcs, I think)at our local NAPA.

I bought an assortment at harbor freight. They had an in store special on them. I don't remember what the cost was but not much or I would not have bought them. I used some on the a B thermostat housing.

Thanks folks! I just ordered some from HF along with a few other things that I really needed (like another hole in the head).

Acually with copper you heat it red and then quick quench it. It is the opposite of annealing iron or steel. It will be soft as butter and when compressed it work hardens itself.
