volumetric shutoff valves

Hey folks,

Anyone have one of these, or at least had one in your hand? The picture looks like it is plastic. Need to know if the real thing is constructed decent and what size the threads are (1/2, 3/4?). And, if you are using one, was/is it worth the money?

Thanks, Dave

Dave, looks like the description says 1"NPT fittings. Haven't ever used or seen one but could be a pretty neat deal for unattended stock tanks. You may have to use an inline restriction to maintain the minimum pressure.

The pipe thread is 1" NPT they are made of plastic and work great I first found out about them at a hog opperation then now i use one in a dairy barn when the cows are in over night and on the water tank outside over night also they work alot better than cleaning up a bunch of water I usualy put them in parallel with a shut off valve so you can run water regularly when someone is around and i put a shut off valve befor it so i can shut off water if i need to change it out

Thanks! It says min. 4 gpm. Is that important? I would like to put it in the supply line to my auto drink bowls. That application wouldn't hit 4gpm. I could still use it to fill my portable tanks and be able to concentrate on something else while they fill and shut off by themselves. They are just mechanical (no electricity) right?

Thanks, Dave

not sure if the 4gpm makes a difference ya all mechanical no electricity actually pretty neat little devices
