I figure if any body has made an elevator it would be osmebody on this site. Is it possible to make a cheap, safe residental elevator?

There are several diagrams and ideas on the web. Safest might be a design that uses ball screws or similar to provide the lift. The big reluctance on the part of responders is liability, and not being in control of the design follow through and safety. JimN
