OT: Chevy Wiper problem

Buddy has a 2000 Chevy 2500, driver's side wiper works, passenger side doesn't. The passeneger side is "limp" so to speak...meaning you can move it freely with no effect on the driver side. What's the fix and how much?? Thanks.

Sounds like a linkage problem to me take it apart by the wiper motor area and find the problem thats all you can do..

The arm ison a taper just have to tighten nut holding arm on motor, can do on outside. I ordered new linkageonce and had to send back when figured out what was wrong. Other side just done it a month ago. no biggie

Yup,nut is loose.Pop off plastic cap & tighten.Check the other,it's pro'ly loose too.

the wiper drive shaft stripped out the base of the wiper arm. remove the access cap at the base of the wiper arm, then remove the retaining nut. lift the wiper arm off the shaft. then clean all the metal shavings out off the knurled drive shaft and the base of the wiper arm. with the wipers in park position, set the arm over the shaft and using a deep socket that will fit the wiper arm base, gently tap the arm down on the shaft. it needs to cut into the arm. the re-install the retaining nut and cap. if the hole in the arm is stripped out too bad, you need to replace the wiper arm. dont torque the nut excessively, it WILL break off.
