However, I'm sure getting tired of diggin' out of these darned blizzards.

Weatherman says another is on the way come Monday. Foot of snow with high winds. Guess I know where that will end up; right square in my feed yard. :>(

I'm here in southern MN, and while we have had more than our share of a long winter that started early with a lot of rain before & after, I sure can't complain.

Both north up by Fargo & down south in your neck of the woods, sure have been getting all the really bad stuff.

It doesn't make anything easy.

Allan,

We're not used to hearing you complain. Usually you are the one who just figures out how to solve the problem.

In any event, hang in there and do what you need to do.

Allan, I figured in your part of Nebraska, you'd take moisture anytime that you don't have cut hay laying in a field. Or is that further south in NE?

Hey Allen:
Can you talk to billonthefarm - weather in cental Illinois sucks this weekend. Don't know whose responible. Only thing I know that it's cold and I'm slow "typing"

Jim

The weather is not my fault. I have alot of things I need to be doing and watching it rain and waiting for the snow to start aint it. It was so crappy outside the cows were waiting for me inside when I did chores this afternoon.

I always appreciate the pictures on here of land around the country. I guess when it's that flat the snow will all end up in the feed yard. It's amazing to me how it still looks dry even with the snow. Here in the northeast we specialize in mud (and rocks)

Oh heck, Allan's not complaining. We don't complain about weather here in Nebraska...that's never been scientifically or otherwise proven to do any good....we simply comment on it- which is what he's doing. One of the great things about the internet is that no matter how bad a person's local weather is, he can always find someone to talk to who has it worse!

Of course it has to suck this weekend. Tomorrow is our anniversary, already paid for Sunday night at Heartland Lodge. Was going to take one of the horses and a Polaris 250 in the gooseneck trailer. NO WAY we are taking the horse now, too cold and wet. Will still take the 250 in the back of the truck on the off chance it is warm enough to ride Monday. The 15 day forecast is still calling for cold and wet, down in the 40s for the most part. Normal should be around 60. Mr. Gore, where is that global warming? DOUG

You oughta' stack those bales in that field in the background away from the house. The snow doesn't seem to ple up there(Grin)!

You can keep the snow and cold down south CENTRAL SASKATCHEWAN it's warmin up +5C today The crows and the geese are back. Spring is here dont mater what the weather doe's

These storms have been going one side or the other from me latelly. This week the cows are going to be in full calving mode so you can bet this ones going to hit and its going to be a veerryy long couple days here in SE MN. Did I mention I HATE snow after the first of April!

Wow, I've seen trees uprooted and I've seen trees unfold around the trunk, but I've never seen trees snap right at the trunk.

got a big one in my backyard. Seems like every day its 'get out the chainsaw & clear the yard'. My lady was walking to the garden one morning & big limb fell, narrowly missing her. Still burning wood in the stove that fell last Fall. Seem to fall at times when there is no wind or other reason for them to fall.

Looking closer today it appears the core had rotted out. I"m sure lightning probably has damaged the tree numerous times over the years, but oak trees don"t fall like this.
