Hi I have a 51 case sc that I am restoring ,and am waiting on my manuals to arrive. Does anybody know if the clutch is exposed to oil.I have heard you need to drain the oil from there at the same time as the engine oil. I took my clutch to a specialty relining shop and they say it is a difference in lining material whether wet or dry.

Yes, this is an oil clutch. There is a passage from the crankcase to the clutch housing. When you change oil, be sure to drain the clutch housing and when you refill the crankcase, add extra oil after the engine has run for about an hour.
