O/T Milo Germination

I planted milo, sunflowers, cowpeas, and millet on May 9. I broadcast all the seed. The milo is two years old; the other seed is this years. The cowpeas and sunflowers are just coming out of the ground but I haven't seen anything that looks like milo. It's been cold, so maybe that's it or I may have covered it too much, though I've used the same chainlink fence piece to cover all the other seed. My corn is up in my other food plots. How long would you wait before replanting? I'm trying the viability test now on the milo seed.

Thanks.

I had to grow milo here in Iowa for on the acres I rented from the DNR years ago.

Unless they improved the cold gemanation on milo seed it will not grow untill the soil is above 65 degrees or more. It will rot. Been there done that.

A few years I had to wait a week or more after bean planting to plant the darn stuff.

That is one reason it is grown in the lower midwest. It likes it hot and dry.

Thanks, Gary. We've had neither dry or hot so far this spring. I'll chalk the information up for future projects and plan to replant in a couple of weeks.
