Ugg...Stupid Ford 4830 Power Steering

Well, I"ve got hay down everywhere, just got thru with the tedder, and power steering fluid starts squirtin" everywhere. Cylinder blewout on the right side. Closest rebuild kit is over 2 hours away, so I"m off to try and get it before they close. How hard is thing thing to rebuild? Never even attempted a cylinder rebuild before...but I don"t have any other choice, HAS to get done tonight...any special tools?? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I forget how the 2 wheel drive versions are set up, but the FWD's aren't too bad. They're not easy either... but not too bad.
The critical thing with the FWD cylinder is that you unbolt it BEFORE you remove the lines, then start the tractor up and cycle the wheels to the right (IIRC), and that will pop the end cap loose. If you don't, you'll fight it until there's frost in hell, and it still won't move...

Again, I can't remember how the two wheel drive cylinders are set up, but I don't think they're very remarkable. Probably a wire retainer style that you spin the end cap and remove the wire, then pull the works apart.

It's been a long time since I rebuilt my 4630 steering cylinder but I think they are the same. I don't remember any problems or special tools. That is the only one that I have rebuilt and that's been over 5 years ago. It's still holding, if I can do it anybody can

Ok...well, I got the rebuild kit, but the long trip turn into a REALLY long trip(don't ask, long story) and I didn't get back home until 9. Got the lights out and started working on the thing. I managed to get the right side(if you were setting on the tractor) completly loose, basically just unscrewed the rod. But the other side, I have no idea how it comes loose. It loooks as if it twists off as well, but the entire cylinder would have turn in order to twist that side. And for the entire thing to trun, I'd have to take the hoses loose, and I'm not for sure if I can even get to them with the cylinder still attached. Now I was working under a spot light, so maybe I missed something, any suggestions?? I'll try and post some pics tomorrow morning. Thanks again.
