Shaw Du All

Looking for ANY INFO as to a Shaw Du All model ?-I forget letter-?6 or ?8 with several attachments. I saw this at an estate sale-not a tractor person but daughter said it ran last year dad used it for YEARS to do garden. Tires were flat paint fair stored in shed. Any idea to value they want to sell it.

thanks
Dave

The model is probably an HY8. It was made by the Shaw Mfg. Co. in Galesburg, Kansas. This company started making this type of small outfit in the early 30"s. The HY8 was introduced around 1940 and was sold until sometime in the late 40"s. I don"t know what happened to the company after that. It was designed for truck gardens and small farms and was powered by a single cylinder Wisconsin engine. I really doubt there are that many still around that haven"t been relegated to the junk yard, and there may not have been many made to begin with. It would definitely be collectable, but I don"t have any idea what an actual market value would be. I wouldn"t start with an offer of any more than $300 if it were me, but I always start low. You can always go up. Remember you are going have to at least buy tires probably. I guess it really depends on what your budget is. Mine is always low. Good luck!

I've gots several Shaw Du-Alls. Two wheel tractors, four wheel tractors, and riding mowers. Most of the four-wheel "8"s have Briggs & Stratton engines along with Borg-Warner transmissions. There is also a two cylinder R-12 with a Wisconsin TE engine. I buy Shaws when cheap, but rarely found four-wheel tractors for less then $500-$600 anymore.

I went back and bought it for $700 with attachments-took pictures if you want to see them please email your email address-model is N or M 6 or 8

THANKS

Dave

Sounds like you've got a model N8. It should have a Briggs & Stratton engine. Shaw also made an R8 and an HY8.
