TSC tool box

A truck tool box is used on the farm right?

Well I am looking at buying a TSC diamond plate crossover tool box from someone. I have not seen the box in person. It is bright aluminum color.

The questio it that ir also has a bottom drawer that slides out, I have never seen this on a box before and TSC doesn't have them in the store or online so I dont know what they cosst new.

Does anyone have one and what quality level are they.

Any opinions on this specific box would be helpful

Thanks

Remember vaguely seeing one but I wasn't looking that closely. Would think the quality would be about the same as everything else at TSC which is to say practically disposable.

I have a diamond pattern one from TSC on my pickup since 1975. It still looks good and works just fine. It has a sliding drawer inside-never seen or heard of one on the bottom but then I've never seen or heard of alot of things. LOL

If you live near Des Moines, Iowa, the DEE ZEE factory outlet has those tool boxes for near half price (blemished). Dee Zee may still make boxes for TSC. I know they did for Central Tractor. My SIL got one for his new Dodge 2500 and gave $150.00 for it. Very heavy built. The blemish was a scratch that was AGAINST the cab!

We have one and it didn't hold up. If you put a very many tools in it, the weight will make it break at the corners where it rests on the side of the pick up.

If you put some supports between the bottom of the box and the bed of the truck you can probably keep it from breaking.

I wish I did but I'm looking for info on this specifiv box because I dont have anything to compare it to, since I have never seen one like it

If you use the truck for touring it would be fine perhaps. But if it is a work truck and you treat it as such hauling tough loads that bottom drawer would take a beating, and maybe make it unusable compared to a corner of a standard unit taking a smack.

I had the same issue, but I made some repairs and then cut a piece of 1/2" plywood and layed it on the bottom of the box. No more problems.

It would be mostly just to store all the crap behind my seat in, no heavy tools, just some ratchet straps and stuff like that

well not to drag on the thread but I was in TSC yesterday and they had big pile of scratch and dent truck tool boxes, I saw a few that I liked, but didn't act on them. Some had big dents and some I couldn't find anything wrong with.

I think that I'm going to go back and offer them less money on a tool box and see what they say.

What would be the lowest reasonable to ask, on a box that is say marked down. I was thinking offer half what they are asking and see what they say
