tv problems

I know some of you guys hate off topic stuff, but i figured someone on here would have the answer. We got direct tv with the two dishes this winter and everything was working fine, a few days ago the picture on the tv is too close and you cant see the way top or bottom of the screen. Is something going on with the tv or did they change something that you need a newer style tv? Tv isnt real old, it hooks up to dvd players, i am guessing around seven years old. I don't watch a lot of tv but i like to watch the local news at night and you cant see the temps on the bottom of the screen, thanks for any answers on this, and for those that don't like off topic this is a picture of my 670, this was taken a few years back, the corn this year isnt even tassling yet.

Nice tractor! those MM's were a well made machine. You wonder where each of the Tractor companies made their mistakes or what became their downfall?? Our local cannery Del Monte used MM LP's only for years..BUT TO ANSWER YOUR TV QUESTION---Direct recently changed the way their satellite's function. At my friends house they went from 2 sat dishes to one. when they did that they had to re-format the way the LOCAL channels are pixelated to fit their lesser Bandwidth. So now the local channels don't fill the screen properly. Why is it everything they "improve" is WORSE??? and yes a new (expensive) tv would help (not cure) the situation.

Nice MM we farm with and collect MM's also.

Did someone mess with the settings recently, you can zoom the picture in and out and maybe it got zoomed in on accident

look for a button or read your manual to see if there is a zoom feature

Had a very hard time getting the digital converter box to "communicate" with our very old tv. Finally got it working and now we get ONE channel (ABC) consistently and sometimes two (NBC). Can't pick up CBS or Fox or PBS at all. Thanks for the great improvement, govt.

There may be a setting on your remote control for Wide-Screen Format or Full-screen format. I'd call DirectTv and tell them you want to upgrade your dish and receiver, and get just one oval style dish. We did this in March to get our local channels via satelite. There was no charge to upgrade.

I approached Direct TV about up grading our system with a new Dish and two recievers for a reason and was told would be a $195.00 charge. Now: they are offering new customers much more than i requested for little initial money required. What is wrong with this picture? Any way a new Dish Network system with 4 recievers with DVR's and a Movie Channel for about the same monthly fee are in our house now.Boy I hate trying to communicate with those people frrom India or where ever, certainly not American style,USA English.Rant over::

Our local cable tv system has that same problem. It happens at least once a week. The only way I have found to fix it is to unplug the cable box power, let it sit for 15-30 seconds, plug it back in and let it reboot. This has worked every time for me.
Good Luck

On my Zenith converter I have a Zoom button .The picture starts out like yours but if I hit the button it goes to all screen

I grew up around Minnie Mos and they are my favorite. Nice looking tractor. Our G-705 had the same basic paint scheme. Only new tractor my dad bought after we kids were born.

My thought about your television is that you simply bumped a wrong button on your remote, but not knowing how they are set up I can't say for sure.

Sure do hate the new television aspect ratio of 16X9 or whatever instead of the 4X3. To get the same picture size that my old 27" set has I think I'll have to get a 42" or so TV when I eventually replace it.

Thanks for all the advice, actual remote for the tv is currently missing and i cant get into the tv settings with the dish remote. I tried to unplug it and let it reboot but that didnt help, i think it might be like some of you said, something got pushed and the tv is not set up right. With a 1.5 year old and 7 year old running loose it is hard to tell what and where things got pushed. We will probobly pull the small tv out of the kids room that is hooked to the dvd player and see if that works, and go from there.

I grew up on mostly molines and a few cases, we farmed with them throughout the 80's and 90's, but now they are just used for this and that in the summer time. The picture is of dads 707 with his vista and A4t in the background. Picture was taken in mid 90's i think.
