Been kicking the idea of a 66 allcrop around

Been thinking about a nice little pull type to mess with.
If you had your choice what would it be. Allcrops or a 25,30JD, or?
Any pro's and con's you could think of would be appreciated.
Was thinking of combining some alfalfa and some grass seeds. Also would use for the oats and wheat and such!
Oh yea i don't want to mess with an engine, so, pto's only.

Plenty of old All Crops around where I live so my choice would be for something different so I'd pick the Deere.

Some Amish live not far away and seem to have a variety of pull types.

When I was growing up(manymany moons ago) dad had a 66 Allcrop. It was a very good combine. They stated that there was none better for clover seed. But that was 45 years ago.

For any grass seed-clover stick with an AC,Deere is not good for those small seeds. And if any grass that likes to wrap then hunt for a auger type AC No. 72. The 72 is the same basic machine as the 60 & 66 but is a 6' cut instead of a 5' as is the 60 and the 66 is a 5 1/2' cut. But on those canvase machines the timothy will crawl under the canvace and wrap around the rollers and you have to unbolt the canvace and take it apart to unwrap the rollers, the lower one is the one it wraps on. Deere you have to put filler plates in the concaves for the small seeds and then you still only have the 2 adjustable screens.

I have been using an All-Crop 60 for 15 years. I run about 4 acres of wheat and 4 acres of soybeans every year. It's been a very reliable simple machine. I have found a lot of spare parts on machines left in the woods, but haven't needed many of them. I have replaced the canvasses and cylinder bars, other than that not much repair. Yaz All Crop has a lot of parts if you need them. Little old combine does an excellent job of separating grain, just don't be in a hurry.

AC had the best rep for small seeds, gentle threshing with the rubber on rubber concept. Also, some were equipped with flax rolls- Dad"s first one had them- I don"t know what they were- I was very little at the time, but he talked about them being in the machine, and it was even better for clover, etc. Betcha Yaz would know about them. I think it was something different in the cyl area.
