Valve grinding

I have my seat grinder ready to go. Never done it but got some basic instructions tonight and seems simple enough. One question he could not answer was what is the standard rule of thumb for sizing your grinding stones vs. valve size?

Anyone have a good source for quickway valve grinder stones?

Stones have to be large enough to grind the entire seat but small enough so that they do not hit anywhere else on the head when in use. Too big is better than too small since you can always cut some off the outside diameter if it need to be a little smaller so it doesn't hit.

Stones for KwikWay or any other brand can be gotten from "goodsons" machine shop supply . You want to use a stone large enough to grind the whole seat ,,but not to large as to hit the side of the chamber. i try to keep stones dressed after 2-3 seat roughing in and after everyone when you cut the finish . Don't take to much off stone when you dress it . I grind bottom cut ,usually 60 degree, the hit the top to narrow the seat ,,15-30 dependin gon app. To finish I grind the seat to 44 1/2 degree to provide a little interferance for it to wear it,,always had good results . Any other questions feel free to drop me a line
