Was at the Carstens Farmstead Tractor Show near Shelby Iowa yesterday. Saw a working #26 JD manure loader. Guy was from Avoca Iowa. Said they only know of 6 still in existence! Here are some pictures of it working. Greg

I've seen that one (or one of the other 5) at the Old Threshers show in Mt Pleasant a few times. Very fun to stand there trying to figure out how it works.

Was at Carstens, great show, great time, but was thinking to myself this is neat because it is rare but this has to be the unhandiest piece of equipment I ve ever seen!

Watched one operate here in Washington state a couple years back at a Two Cylinder show at Chehalis. I guess it beat using a pitchfork...

I got in on parts of that conversation. Seems he was driving down a country road and he sees the mast standing up along a fencerow. Found the ID tag, says it is a #26 bucket! Some of the pieces they had to make, not sure of which. Greg

Hey, I can imagine one of those things being pretty handy for cleaning up the old "winter made manure pile" in the barnyard I had to help hand pitch every spring. You oughta work for OSHA with your positive attitude, Mr. Nicholson.
