9 dollar straw bales

Jewel food stores in Chicago land are sell them for 9 bucks. No price on the pumkins. Almost let the wheat drop out the back of the combine and sell only the straw.

But only if you are a retailer like Jewel can you command that price. Check out the price of Mini bales in a flower shop!

For once, I got the jump on them. I use oat straw to bed my doghouse during winter. I bought three bales for $3 a bale at the Albert City Threshermens show in August. I had no idea that I saved $6 per bale. LOL

Around Halloween people put them out with pumpkins
and scarecrows and such. After Halloween I found 6
in perfect condition at our local brush and yard
waste drop off site. I sure got them loaded fast,
and they made such good mulch in the spring.
I sure hope those dumb city slickers throw away
some more this year!
