Ford 601 workmaster 1958

charging system. key off, still have 3 amps draw on the generator armature lead. question? with all the books we received, need to find ele system prints for this unit. the red charging light. need information on how it ties into the system??

Unless the wiring is messed up, sounds like the cut-out part of voltage regulator is stuck or sticking. Sometimes this happens with weak batt. if I recall correctly. Dave

Whoops. Re read the question. 3 amps the field part of regulator is stuck/sticking. If red light stays on the substantiates that. Happened to ford cars around that time. Dave
