6000 Ford- What's it worth?

Found a 6000 widefront, loader mounted on it. It is in good shape other than valve stuck in select-o-speed transmission. Sheet metal and tires are good. Don't know anything about these transmissions. Can anyone help? Thanks

the loader is worth a bit, the tractor is not worth much... 6000 and 8000 dont bring much around here sadly.. take any offer and run..

VERY few guys could ever get the 6000 trans to work the way it should and the guys that did most are dead or to old to remember anything about them. had a old gent that new them inside and out but he passed on

6000 were good tractors in my opinion it was the operators that were the problem.I had one I used for several years with no problem.
Keep the trans fluid clean, don't jerk the Selectospeed just because you can and if you have worked the tractor hard give it 10 or so minutes to cool down before cutting the tractor off.

There are still some SOS mechanics around I know one in Luray VA. Tell where you are and maybe someone will know of one in your area.

That would be big money on one in tip top mint condition with everything working. For one with current SOS problems I wouldnt buy it at any price.

Weigh it at the local scrap yard and see what they offer. Now you have a value...

The 6000 was a dud out the door and they (Ford) never fully succeeded in making it anything more. Might be fun to play with... but realize what it is. A heap of trouble.

Had one. ford 2000. Stay away from it. Big bucks keeping the select o speed functioning on a loader tractor. Maybe ok for field work but as a loader ,naw.

If you are a collector, I think you should snag that 6000. If you are looking for a tractor that you can use and work, I think you should keep looking. You didn't mention what kind of loader it has, but if that loader can easily be mounted on something else, then go ahead and buy the package, remove the loader and then sell the 6000 to a collector. These are just some random thoughts so take them for what they're worth.

$3000 is not too far off IF the tires are good, sheet metal is good etc.

dad and grandpa both have 6000 commanders with select o speeds with no trans problems and they were both bought new by them. So the trans is not necessarily weak but operator error like the TA in an international so to speak. However in rebuilding them most people will not thouch them as Ford I hear did not recommend even wiping the parts down with a rag for fear that a piece of lint could get in there and foul things up. So in my meager opinion the trans problem is a BIG issue I would almost say scrap price or a little more.
