O/T small electric heater

I am looking for some advice on what I can get for a small electric heater for our well house. It is about 6'x16' and about 4' in the ground. It used to have an ancient baseboard heater in it, but when I rebuilt the upper part of the building I bought a little 1000 watt or so portable electric heater with a fan for about $20 at Lowes. It used less power and was handier. It only lasted two winters, and the thermostat quit. It is supposed to keep the temp around 40, so when it stays on all the time it is way too much. Has anyone had good luck with a portable heater that lasted well, or is two years just normal? Thank you very much.

Simpler is better. A plain boring baseboard heater mounted low in the building. Uses no fan and has an internal HD stat.
There is very little "material" in a $20 heater to be durable.

Try these I have one in my bathroom for the last 18 years works great. They also have a special well house thermostat. Mine is the 1000 watt unit and puts out more heat then two of those small 1500 watt units. it is also built in.

Zachary, that's a big pumphouse. Can you partition it off so it won't be such a big area to heat? Smaller is better - until it's time to work on the pump.

We use heat tape wraped in insulation made for the tape. Never had a freeze up in the well house. Hope this helps LOU
