3 point hitch. Supposed to do 3 functions depending on where you plug the PTO shaft. Said 20 bucks on the phone but when I got there, the guy (not the person I talked to) had the PTO shaft off and was getting ready to scrap it. Paid 5 bucks for the rake and 5 for the shaft. $16 US.

Hope I'm set now.

Not sure. Hagedorn I think (German brand). If it should move, it does and if it shouldn't, it don't. Fittings looked to have been lubed regularly and there is an oil seep at the gearbox (must be oil in there) and the two belts are fairly new. We'll see when I pick it up tomorrow.

That ought to do you fine, I liked side delivery rakes, PTO driven, because you can lift the rake up and go over windrows, I've been running a ground driven NH model, bigger fields you just plan your turns, usually at the thin spots like on the corners. Middle is the only pain in the @ss, if you can't do straight runs to the headlands. Will probably be a bearing and a grease fitting on each side and at each bar, but at least you don't have the ground drive line and latch etc. to deal with, just the pto shaft, belt/shaft/bearings and the fittings on the bar. We had a M-F side delivery rake for years, was good in tight areas. Only other thing we use now is a tedder, even then, some fields towards the end of the season are still hard to get dry, someone near our horse farm has cut some 3rd cut hay grasses, weather is nice, cutting is thin, but it still may be hard to dry, need a little heat besides the breeze and dry weather, they must have wanted to wait til after the frost or something, last time I got involved with late season haying, lot of bales just over the line with too much moisture, they molded up.

Your the only one I know of on this site that could stumble and fall into an outhouse and come out smelling like a rose. lol Looks like you found a winner, Good for you!!!!!!!!!!!! . Now you are a full fledged farmer. lol Next thing I will read from you is "Found 150 acres for $35.00." I still wish my pop kept the farm and not moved away from Pa.to Indiana. Destiny Prevails ....
