in the tv comedy series 'hogans hero's' there is a suposed german light truck that appears in numerous episodes, it is 2 place open cab, 4x4 and has a short covered bed, what is it, a movie prop? or a real vehicle, i cant find any info on it anywhere, the rest of the vehicles are a mix of american and german units but this one has me puzzled

now theres a good show i have not seen in 40 years. but i do remember that truck, but thats all.

i like it too i watched it when they were all new episodes in the mid '60's, it has whats lacking in modern comedy shows, stuff thats actualy funny plus a reasonabal if far fetched plot lol

Some of the vehicles used in that show were accurate, some not. In one episode, "Hold that Tiger", an American "M7" medium tank was used in place of a German Tiger tank.

Hard to say without a picture of the truck you"re talking about, or a specific episode.

This what you are talking about (imagine it without a roof)?

no this is not the one but this one probably replaced that one in the german army fleet, its about the same size but is lower to the ground and has a medium lenght hood similar to a model a ford with triangular shaped intregal fenders on the sides of the hood, ive been looking on toadmans site but havent found a pic yet ive seen the thing in several war films but not documentarys just cant find a pic of it yet

Did you know that the actor who palyed Colonel Klink was a Jew who had fled the Nazi's
His agreement to play the part was that at the end of the show the Colonel would never have the upper hand.

yes i did, when asked to play the part, werner kemper [ col. klink] said that he would play the part of col klink on 1 condition, that klink's plans and schemes were never to be sucessful, but always would fail, general burkhalter was also a jew as were 2 others on the cast corporal le'beau actually spent time in a wwll nazi concentration camp and had his id tatoo nimber on his arm which is why he never appeared in short sleves in the show

no im familiar with the kubelwagon, i will keep looking and post the pic when i find it, lol, and after all this i will find it thanks for all the help and great pictures

I grew up knowing a B24 pilot that spent time in a German POW camp. He hated that show. He actually shot his TV once. Arizona guys, did they ever find out who killed Bob Crane ?
