Hi all...John [or others] with knowledge of military M1008 trucks..I'm going to be hooking up a 12 volt power pack style plow lift pump with lever/microswitch control valve to my M1008 ..Can I hook it up to the front battery pos to pos, neg to neg without causing catastrophic meltdown to operate this unit??Or should I ground somewhere else?? Thanks , Roy

That's the way I would do it. Shouldn't hurt a thing. One alternator will just have to work a little harder.

Some of those GM trucks could be optioned with a 2nd alternator. If there is a place, then a dedicated 12V alternator/battery for the snowplough could be an option?

It already has 2 alternators on it..As I understand it, the passenger side alternator charges the rear battery..The drivers side charges the front one with some "spillover" to the rear battery...
