BIG redi-rod

looking for some place to get 3 in redi-rod 10 ft long need 30 or threaded rod with 12 in of thread on each end in 3 in.
 
They don't have it on the front shelf at Home Hardware? :)

I think you're heading to a machine shop this time. Not a small time one either if they've got to chuck 3" bar in 10' lengthes. Unless that can pass through the chuck, that's going to be a big old lathe.

Will 6" round bar with threads on both ends do?

I have it in 16', 20', and 26' pieces. It weighs 96 lbs per foot. Total footage is around 200'.

A few of the pieces have acme threads. I should have nuts for everything.

These were stems for lifting flood control gates. Come and clean me out.
 
3 inch??? Don't know what you are tensioning with that, but you might want to look at this stuff as an alternative. It is used for post-tensioning concrete.
You might get by with something smaller than 3", because this is very high in tensile strength...
The 2-1/2" has 780 kips ultimate strength.

what size thread r we talking here 3-12 3-8 or a corse er thread we need the work and 10 fters r no promlem on our leblond lathe, i know we have gauge for 3-8 but if something else u may have to send the mating part to fit threads 2 alt # is 517 787 3791 ask for ken ,not jim probably pricey though if need high yield strength,,,kris
