House furnace

Does anyone have a System 2000 oil fired water boiler to heat their house? If so what do you think of it and does $6000.00 sound like a fair price installed? Thanks for any replies. Dick in Vermont.

You should call around and get several more estimates. My nephew has the house my late parents bought in 1959 when they left the farm.
My mom had a new oil fired furnace installed probably over 20 years ago. It has always heated the house very well and supplied plenty of hot water. It has baseboard heat. I had that in my other house and the furnace wasn't that old when we bought the house. It provided a nice even heat and plenty of hot water. It was oil fired too. I did have to replace the circulator shortly afer buying it, but I bought a new Bell & Gossett circulator and installed it myself. I tore the old one apart and found the bearings were worn and that allowed the impeller to drag on the housing. It never did leak. Hal
